A non-governmental organization from Romania, built step by step, from the first cultural activity to national heritage and civic participation projects.
What we do and why we do it
Youth Vision for Society is a non-profit organization from Romania, active in its current form since 2017 and consolidated starting in 2023 through civic, cultural, educational and community projects.
We work at the intersection of civic engagement, culture, heritage, environment and community development. We create projects that connect people with the places they live in, better understand the communities around them and discover concrete forms of participation.
For us, civics is not just about discourse about social responsibility. It means applied experiences: urban explorations, workshops, cultural projects, local research, community activations, educational resources, and collaborations with institutions, NGOs, civic groups, and communities.
Through its five main lines of action, YVS aims to build bridges between people, places, generations and ideas — and to transform heritage, local memory and community resources into starting points for engagement.
We create contexts in which people can better understand how their communities work and how they can contribute to public life. We do not work with civic engagement in an abstract way, but through concrete experiences: workshops, community dialogues, participatory activities, volunteering, cultural projects and processes through which participants are encouraged to observe, question, reflect and act.

Why do we exist?
YVS's mission is to contribute to the formation of a more vibrant civic culture, in which people are informed, involved and aware of their role in the community.
We create contexts through which citizens can better understand the places they live in, the heritage that surrounds them, and the problems of their communities, transforming curiosity, memory, and attachment to place into participation and responsibility.
Where do we want to go?
We want communities where people are not just spectators of the changes around them, but active participants in common life.
YVS's vision is a society where culture, heritage, civic education and community development become real resources for dialogue, trust and action. In the long term, we want to contribute to the formation of more connected, responsible and capable communities to build their own future.
From 2017 to today
The first cultural and civic activities, the first partnerships and the testing of some work directions.
Public information activities, institutional collaborations and campaigns dedicated to civic participation.
Involvement in supporting people affected by the war in Ukraine and strengthening the social dimension of the organization.
Through the Danube Road – Dobrorigini, YVS begins exploring the Dobrogean heritage and outlines one of its main strategic directions.
Development of projects dedicated to built heritage, from Bucharest to Constanța: Urban Explorers – Night Session and Anghel Saligny – Beyond the Bridge.
Continuation of projects in Bucharest and Dobrogea, with a focus on heritage, urban exploration, community dialogue and public engagement.
A new stage for YVS: organizational strategy, clearer public communication, resource development, trainings and recurring projects.
The people behind YVS
YVS is built by a small, interdisciplinary team, bringing together skills in management, communication, territorial analysis, heritage and project development. We work in stages, with roles being consolidated, but with a common motivation: to develop projects that leave something behind.
She coordinates the organization's strategic direction, project development, financial management, and relationship with funders, sponsors, and partners. She is involved in YVS institutional building and in consolidating projects with civic, cultural, and community impact.
Supports the organizational management and operational coordination of YVS projects, with an important role in partnerships, external relations and the development of the Dobrogea direction. Contributes to the transformation of ideas into applied and sustainable projects.
Contributes to the smooth administrative and organizational functioning of the association. In projects, brings expertise in territorial analysis, GIS, mapping and documentation, especially where heritage, communities and space meet.
It ensures the supervision of compliance with the statutory framework and contributes to the verification of the financial correctness of the organization. Its role supports the transparency and good internal governance of YVS.
Contribute to the public communication of YVS projects, from social media to visibility and promotional materials. Support the way the organization tells its story and reaches communities, audiences, and partners more clearly.
Supports YVS projects through architectural perspective, heritage documentation and contributions related to urban space. He is involved in research, organization and interpretation activities of built heritage.
