On September 19 and 20, 2026, we meet again around the stories of Bucharest. This time, in a place that has already gathered its own for more than a century: Cantacuzino Palace, on Victoria Avenue.
On the occasion of the celebration of 567 years since the first documentary attestation of Bucharest, Bucharest Narrated and Urban Explorers – Night Session come together in a special edition dedicated to the city, its heritage and the way the past continues to live in today's Bucharest.
The event will take place in Cantacuzino Palace courtyard, alongside "George Enescu" National Museum„, the host partner of this edition. The museum is currently closed to visitors, but for two days the Palace courtyard will become an open space for stories, meetings, music, architecture and urban exploration.
Urban Explorers started from a simple idea: heritage should not just be viewed from a distance. To care about a city, we must first get to know it, to discover its streets and houses, the people who lived in them and the things that happened within their walls. In this special edition, we continue to explore Bucharest in exactly this way – through experiences that bring history closer and transform it into a living encounter with the city.
Over the course of the two days we will bring together guided tours and urban explorations, workshops and activities for children and families, a treasure hunt, video screenings, moments of poetry, music, architecture and heritage.
We will also talk about the future of historic buildings, through a panel dedicated to the restoration of monuments, alongside professionals who work directly with built heritage. National Museum of Romanian Literature will bring moments of poetry to the program, and music will also have its place through a moment Garden, made in collaboration with Urban Weekends.
Architecture Magazine will also be with us with a space dedicated to architecture, the city and its publications.
We want these two days to be more than just a series of activities. To be an opportunity to look at the city a little more closely: to notice a building we've probably passed by hundreds of times, to learn the story of a street, to discuss how to restore what's worth preserving, or simply to spend a few hours in one of the places that define Bucharest's memory.
Because the city is not just made up of buildings. It is made up of stories, people, memories, and the relationship that each generation builds with the places it inherits.
